Job Description

This will be a hybrid role based out of the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, WA.

Salary Range: $118,796 - $163,344 (DOE)

Summary and Qualifications:

Lead and implement reporting for the Practice, ensuring accuracy/quality and timeliness of reporting to the business.

Collaborate with Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) and other Vet Health reporting teams on improvement and future design of reporting tools, technology, data and processes.

Engage and motivate the team while developing talent for succession and progression to Co-piloting roles in Finance.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Pro-actively assess and challenge status quo, proposing innovative solutions to simplify and automate our reporting processes and tools while focusing on making our reporting simpler to understand and driving right actions at all levels of the organization (Mars and MVH requirements, Total Practice, Regions, Markets, Hospitals).
  • Review and analyze operational reports to identify trends, opportunities, issues and insights to improve our performance as a practice.
  • Manage the reporting team, including hiring, developing, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating performance, as well as making salary recommendations.
  • Manage the preparation and oversight of all reporting required by the business (Mars, MVH, Banfield Leadership, Operations teams), accountable for accuracy and responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of the automated data extraction processes, analyzing the current business systems and processes, and recommending changes to increase the efficiencies of practice operations.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Lead and sponsor projects, working with leaders throughout the company to achieve practice wide objectives.
  • Manage reporting for the Practice – what (metrics, KPIs), how (tools, frequency) and who (effective team, data governance and access management). Ensure accuracy/quality and timeliness of reporting to the business.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
  • Environment where pets are present.
  • Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • The demonstrated ability to build/lead/develop effective teams is required.
  • The ability to see through complex data, distilling key insights to action performance improvement, is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Finance is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Knowledge and expertise in delivering technology and data-based operational reporting in a complex multi-unit environment are required.
  • Eight years of Finance experience in Retail, Healthcare or multi-unit Consumer Goods are required.
