Are you interested in leading a team, and the go-to-market strategy, for Public Sector Partners across Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean? This role is focused on increasing adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the International Public Sector (PS) segments (government, education, non-profits and healthcare) with/through partners delivering cloud computing services and solutions. Do you have the partner and business development experience, sales leadership and the cloud technical knowledge necessary to help further establish AWS as the leading cloud platform provider? AWS LCC (Latin America, Canada & Caribbean) is seeking a leader for the Public Sector Partner business, (including Systems Integrators, ISVs, Resellers and Distributors). This leader will be responsible for the Public Sector Partner strategy and execution and developing/managing a regional and functional Partner Management teams.
We are looking for a Sr. level Manager to join our team. As a Sr. Manager within Amazon Web Services (AWS) you will have the exciting opportunity to drive the partner growth plan and shape the future of emerging technology in the public sector (government, education, healthcare and non-profit verticals and with state owned entities). You will be responsible for delivering results of top line revenue growth and overall LCC PS market expansion with/through partners increasing solution creation and adoption. This role will work with our regional partner teams to develop strategies for expanding AWS consumption by Public Sector organizations. We help our partners define expansion priorities, develop and close opportunities aligning with partner, sales, architect and marketing teams.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong management, leadership, sales/sales management and partner background across the international markets with experience building teams and partner strategy. Engaging across public sector to advance AWS business objectives in target markets. Successful Managers have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. Ability to drive engagement and interact at the partner and AWS executive leadership levels.

Key job responsibilities
  • Understand the legal, compliance, security, technical, contract vehicles/procurement considerations and certifications specific to public sector that impact PS partners
  • Drive revenue and market share selling to and with LCC PS partners. Maintaining an accurate and robust pipeline and forecast of business opportunities.
  • Understand the technical requirements of our partners/customers and work closely with the solutions architecture team to guide the direction of our product offerings. Ensuring that AWS is each partner’s preferred public cloud computing platform (across all partner product lines utilizing the AWS service portfolio)
  • Build/execute the strategic LCC sales & business development partner plan working with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g. sales, service, technical, legal, marketing, etc.) to define and execute high impact, joint sales and go-to-market programs focused on public sector
  • Lead and manage strategic partner initiatives across a broad geography engaging with International and WWPS counterparts.
  • Engage the partner’s Sr. Leadership (marketing, channels and end customers) to create and drive revenue opportunities for AWS.
  • Identify specific customer segments and industry verticals to approach with a joint value proposition for using AWS. Position AWS for internal use by the partner organization.
  • Manage and develop the LCC partner team members to exceed goals/KPIs and provide coaching on career development
  • Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to assigned targets, keeping executive leadership informed on progress against objectives.
  • Develop and execute against a repeatable model for expansion into new markets and establishing foundational partner sales activities.
  • Increase partner/customer satisfaction
  • Serve as a key Leader of the AWS Public Sector Partner and LCC Management Team. Working collaboratively and transparently with AWS sales/partner leaders to ensure alignment on core business priorities

  • MBA is highly valued as is a technical background with Computer Science
  • Experience working with or selling to government, education or non-profit institutions.
  • Knowledge of international government technology policy trends and priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to turn detailed data analysis into useful strategic insight in order to drive customer adoption, make appropriate recommendations to the business and guide strategy and execution
  • Experience leading, implementing and executing field programs and resources (including extended and remote teams)
  • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and developing partner sales teams.
  • Understanding of Cloud computing technology (public and hybrid cloud platforms or as-a-Service models: SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) with demonstrated ability to apply new technologies, models, and frameworks to solve business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit, a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity and the ability to be efficient with limited resources
  • Demonstrated experience in international Partner led sales and engagements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $149,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $278,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
