Job Description

INTRODUCTION

The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) provides death, disability and pension retirement benefits to employees of local governments and school districts in Illinois (with the exception of the City of Chicago and Cook County). As is the second largest—and best funded—statewide public pension system in Illinois, IMRF serves approximately 2,900 municipal employers in the State. SUMMARY

Responsible for daily sorting, delivery and posting of incoming and outgoing mail. Also responsible for delivery of expedited mail, inter-office mail as well as supplies. Maintain numerous recordkeeping logbooks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with vending machine vendor in reporting issues and request new items
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Deliver and prepare special mailings, overnight packages, certified mail, and accountable mail
  • Pick up and deliver inter-office mail and packages
  • Perform duties and special projects as assigned by the Mail Center Supervisor
  • Assist the Office Services Manager with possible tenant improvement projects and capital projects
  • Request Padded elevators, time of delivery, and proof of Certificate of Insurance of company delivering as required
  • Maintain computerized accounting system including mail expenditures for internal reports
  • Sort and deliver incoming mail
  • Enter work order tickets for Lights, roof leaks, heating and cooling, washroom issues, cleaning requests etc. on a daily basis.
  • Monitor the track it system as a back up to the Office Services Manager and respond to Track It tickets placed by staff
  • Distribute supplies and verify and deliver purchase order items
  • Serve as back-up for Digital Print Center
  • Work with the Office Services Analyst as needed for continuous process improvements.
  • Operate the following machinery: folder, folder-inserter, mail meter and letter opener.
  • Prepare and post outgoing mail using mail processing machine

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one-year related experience.

Valid driver’s license.
