A role in Logistics means you’ll focus on the efficient transportation of product around the country. Here, you’ll be challenged to pivot seamlessly from sales operations and planning, to ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, to achieving the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You’ll establish and develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time shipment and delivery to stores and ultimately, guests.
As Senior Logistics Manager you will be responsible for leading an Operations Manager and their team of Yard Coordinators. You will also be responsible for engaging third party providers to drive excellent service to the distribution center. Leading with a focus on safety, excellence, self-motivation, problem solving and teamwork, you will help your team foster a “safety first” culture through awareness, training, execution and accountability. With safety being Target’s number one priority, you will work diligently with site teams and your Yard Operations Manager to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all drivers and team members who enter Target’s yard. The teams you lead will have responsibility for all yard functions- including ensuring thousands of deliveries per week are available for on-time departure to stores. Your teams will need to work with a sense of urgency will help ensure operational plans are met and duties are executed safely, partner teams are kept informed, and service is coordinated across all functions. You will lead through and conduct root-cause problem solving, taking calculated risk and testing with a fail fast mentality.
You will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders including Distribution leadership, carrier partners, Assets Protection, Logistics Leaders and HQ teams to identify gaps in processes and drive optimization through the development of tools, process improvement and automation within the yard operation and the yard logistics teams on the ground. Your commitment to others will show through as you support your teams to meet their business goals, ensuring a high level of service, maximizing efficiencies and serving as a change agent to champion continuous improvement and do what is best for the guest.

About you:
- Must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands including overnight, weekends and holidays
- Change agent with strong credibility and influence while working in a cross-functional environment
- Four year degree, preferably in the areas of Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related business, or a minimum of 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing, production, or distribution environment and applicable management/supervisory experience
- Champion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in all aspects of team building, team leadership and team development
- Experience leading and influencing a team with common or shared goals, providing direction and coaching for performance and development
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and use of good judgement in stressful situations
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and root-cause problem solving
- Must be flexible to travel to sites of responsibility as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays (travel up to 50%)
- Experience managing third party service
