The job:
Discover impactful work as our new Senior Field Service Engineer (Sr FSE). As Sr FSE, you will be responsible for delivering service activities (including Installations, Repairs, Maintenance Services, Tech Support etc.) for Unity Lab Services, supporting our Multi Collector product portfolio (Neoma, Triton and Neptune) across UK and northern EMEA territories for the purpose of delivering:
- Low repeated call rates
- A high level of customer service resulting in customer happiness
- High first-time fix rates and low mean time to repair
In addition, you will support our overall Service Targets with respect to Bookings, Revenues, Service Profit and Overhead Cost while following all internal rules, processes, and practices.
This is a field-based role with a territory covering northern EMEA (UK, Ireland, Nordics & Benelux). You will be travelling on the road within your territory 5 days per week and will be away from home Monday to Friday most weeks. Candidates can be based anywhere within the northern EMEA region, providing you live close to an international airport.
What will you do?
- Specific product support to be given on Multi Collector instruments (Neoma, Triton and Neptune) (80%).
- Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of activities including field service reports and expenses reports (5%).
- Enable the customer's success through their partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific. Utilise web-based, sales lead logging tools to ensure customers are offered those products and services they require enabling them to meet their objectives (5%).
- Deliver the highest professional relationship with our customer base raising technical issues to quickly resolve critical tasks in the fastest way possible. Follow our ethical business conduct guidelines.
- Perform Field Service-related duties in line with internal rules, customer regulations and health and safety guidelines.
- Responsible for company assets including parts inventory, laptop computer, mobile phone, test equipment (ensuring validation calibration), tools, software, company car etc. (5%).
- Work remotely providing on-site services exceeding customer expectations and ensuring that customers become promoters of our business through positive feedback.
- Optimize own work schedule by coordinating with all the required partners for service planning (Dispatch function, Team Leader, Manager) (5%).
Who we are looking for:
- Proficient levels of PC literacy
- Good English skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work across all levels, functions, and regions
- Willing and able to travel 5 days week within territory, Monday to Friday away from home
- Excellent interpersonal, self-motivational and negotiating skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Background in Electronics/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering or related subjects
- Some knowledge of inorganic mass spectrometry an advantage, but not essential
- Minimum 1-3 years’ of experience servicing analytical equipment. Equivalent applications specialist or end user experience will also be considered as valuable experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to balance multiple tasks with different priorities
