The User Experience Designer designs innovative and engaging digital products. Responsible for performing user-centered design activities related to products and/or web applications. The role will work with product and development teams to understand their design requirements and develop creative solutions for meeting those needs. Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills, particularly guiding groups through the process of making data-driven decisions. Adept and open to working collaboratively, taking minimal direction and creating high fidelity designs with other design and development team. Understand the capabilities of a complex web-based system or application, and design easy to use, highly intuitive, and modern interfaces to support the brand message and increase usability. Evaluating existing applications and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectiveness. Implement existing Information Architecture, UX & design deliverables such as sitemap, user flow chart, prototypes, wireframes, and style guides into functioning design system.

  • Big picture, user flow, and information architecture experience is a must
  • Ability to design out wireframes and take wireframes to a high-fidelity prototype
  • Adept and open to working collaboratively, taking minimal direction and creating high fidelity designs with other design and development team
  • Be a key partner in shaping our products by channeling the voice of the user, envisioning initial concepts, proactively iterating upon task flows, wireframes, and mock-ups
  • Articulate and sell your design solutions to other designers, product stakeholders, management and executives.
  • Present your work and have your voice heard in design reviews.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills, particularly guiding groups through the process of making data-driven decisions
  • Work with a team of world class product designers who love getting into the details, solving hard problems and have a great time doing it
  • Partner closely with analysts, content strategists, product managers, engineers, and others across the company to understand user behavior both qualitatively and quantitatively.
  • Work together with our Sales team, Cross-functional team, and other Product teams to design solutions for our Communication and Collaboration products
  • Understand the capabilities of a complex web-based system or application, and design easy to use, highly intuitive, and modern interfaces to support the brand message and increase usability
  • Evaluating existing applications and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectiveness
  • Implement existing UX & design deliverables such as prototypes, wireframes, and style guides into functioning code
  • Actively participate in shaping testing protocols to test your work in our live experiences

Experience

  • Ability to confidently speak about your design solutions, addressing tradeoffs, and how you are reconciling technical, policy and business constraints
  • Proven experience showing clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills –build positive working relationships with team members, have a good sense of humor, and a positive outlook on things
  • Minimum of 4 – 8+ years of Front-End or User Experience Design development experience
  • Ability to balance the customer experience with business requirements and considerations
  • Must be proficient and comfortable working in apps such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, iOS and Android.
  • Experience in information design and data visualization, with a demonstrated ability to clearly express complex information
  • A deep connection to who your users are in, their needs and pain points. Your designs are framed around customer problems and opportunities
  • Strong portfolio of work including web apps, websites, visual design and/or interactive design
  • Portfolio of sample projects highlighting design for web-based applications, mobile applications & consumer facing web sites and/or applications
  • Self-starter and take a proactive stance toward achieving success on your projects
  • Well-versed in user-centered design methods and techniques - including development methodologies and best practices
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills
  • This team is very data driven. Candidate should have experience and interest in data driven design
  • Excellent hands-on design skills – be able to create organized information architecture maps, demonstrate knowledge of UCD methodology, and visualize your designs under a tight schedule through storyboards, wireframes, task flows, and prototypes to meet each stage of development
  • Intermediate to strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to web-based applications

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, User Centered Design, Fine Arts or similar is required
  • Additional certifications in software development, development tools, and/or user interface development are a plus
  • Working knowledge and understanding of development technologies, methodologies, and associated tools

Washington Pay Range : $120,400.00 - $162,900.00

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
