Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Senior Data Engineer for its Johnston, RI location.

Duties: Design, modify, develop and implement technology solutions by building modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals. Participate in an environment rapidly transforming to the Agile methodology, adhering to best practices and collaborating effectively with teammates. Infuse quality of service characteristics, such as scalability, manageability and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities. Document development iterations, ensure the quality of technical documentation, and create progress reports. Participate in code and design reviews with network, infrastructure and solutions engineering teams to ensure that solutions meet current enterprise standards.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of experience in the role or in a similar position. Full term of experience must include: Developing and maintaining enterprise data warehouse systems using ETL tools, including Datastage and Talend, conform to the Regulatory Program Standards; Creating UNIX and Update shell scripts in an enterprise environment; Developing code using ETL tools, including Datastage and Talend, to load data from different sources to enterprise data platforms, including flat files, complex flat files, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and big data files; Determining data definitions by interpreting logical and physical data models; Utilizing IBM DataStage, Talend, and Aqua Data Studio to perform impact analysis on issues raised by internal and external end users; Writing complex SQL queries to extract data from databases; Utilizing query tools, including Aqua Data Studio and Dbeaver, to perform ETL development, impact analysis, unit testing, end user support, database joins, self-joins, aggregate functions, rank functions, and case statements; and Creating and updating Autosys JILs to schedule ETL batch jobs and utilizing Autosys boxes to sequence batch windows.
