Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Position Summary
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer position manages the quality requirements related to suppliers (components and raw materials) and service providers for the entire value stream(s).The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for establishment, implementation and direction of efforts and procedures to ensure that requirements of raw materials, components and finished products conform to Edgewell Personal Care’s quality standards. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer establishes and maintains the supplier quality ,management system including, but not limited to quality assurance standards, procedures and controls.The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer works with suppliers to ensure that adequate controls are in place to confirm that raw materials, components, products, packaging, and services comply with established requirements. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will conduct audits as required at/with suppliers and report results. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, improving and reporting status of the overall Supplier Quality Management System.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for overall quality assurance leadership in the management of raw materials and component suppliers, and service providers.
- Support inhouse manufacturing and consumer complaint issues related to supplier materials and components.
- Monitor trends and report quality metrics to Executive Leadership.
- Ensure that Quality Agreements are established and in place with suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure the effective and timely closure of Supplier Corrective Actions and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations initiated by staff.
- Work with Quality, Operations, Procurement, Program Management, Package Development and R & D to develop long term business strategies.
- Ensure that internal and external containment activities are performed as required to ensure quality of products.
- Review nonconformance and consumer complaint data and drive root cause and corrective actions with suppliers to closure using CAPA methodology.
- Use advanced statistics and Quality Engineering tools (i.e. FMEA, DOE, SPC and MSA) to solve complex problems.
- Manage the Service Provider qualification process.
- Develop and manage departmental objectives and projects.
- Support Operations team with issues at the supplier impacting quality and shipping performance.
- Adhere to and manage budgetary commitments.
- Participate in the supplier qualification, approval, and selection process.
- Ability to act as a single point of contact between suppliers and EPC on issues related to quality performance.
- Manage the Audit process and ensure that staff performs supplier quality system audits are being performed on time and drive improvements as required.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure that quality audits are on a documented schedule and comply with the appropriate regulations and EPC’s Quality SOPs.
- Ability to write, review, revise, and approve SOPs, product specifications, Bill of Materials, and packaging assembly specs.
- Ability to communicate with internal and external customers to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure that on-site visits to supplier locations are conducted to confirm adherence to quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to motivate closure of open Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) incidents.
- Provide guidance in sampling and testing techniques as needed.
- Ability to facilitate a cross-functional team to resolve quality issues.
- Ability to manage nonconformances related to suppliers and work with suppliers and cross-functional teams in resolving issues.
- Ability to review and approve nonconformance reports, failure investigations, and deviations.
- Create reports for QA Executive management and other internal groups. Reports include but are not limited to quality trends, quality metrics, trip reports, audit reports, scorecards, assessments, improvement plans, and corrective action status reports.
- Ability to identify and implement system improvements
Required Skills And Experience
- General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and their application.
- Excellent computer skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Minitab.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of FDA-regulated products.
- Five years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment in a quality-related field.
- Five or more years working with suppliers in a Supplier Quality position.
- BS in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of Process Control Plans and process FMEA is required.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Knowledge and experience with 21 CFR 820 and/or 21 CFR 210/211 are a plus.
- ASQ CQE/CQA certification or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- QC laboratory experience is a plus.
- Advanced statistics preferred.
- Chemistry or Chemical Engineering experience is preferred.
- Injection molding and light assembly experience preferred.
- External auditing experience desired.
- Knowledge of PPAP is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Process highly preferred.
Working Relationships
- Edgewell teammates, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
Work Environment
- Work on night shifts and weekends may be required.
- Travel may be required for training, visiting suppliers, etc.
- Assist in investigating incidents as directed by your supervisor.
- Be aware of and follow the Environmental Policy and EH&S work instructions/procedures that apply to the job.
- Environmental, Health, And Safety ResponsibilitiesExposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Perform every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, and contractors, and for the protection of facilities. This includes the use of required personal protective equipment and use of safety equipment as well as safe work practices.
- Review Material Data Sheet instructions before working with any chemical product
- Immediately report every job-related injury or illness, regardless of severity, to a supervisor.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and training.
- Take necessary actions to correct or stop any unsafe conditions or practices.
- Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.
- Quality Assurance ResponsbilitiesColleagues are responsible for their own quality and that of colleagues within their span of control.
- Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions.

The salary range for this position is $84,000 - 126,000. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
