TITLE: Senior Civil/Structural Engineer
STATUS: Exempt – Paid overtime & travel time - Flex Office Hours/Free Parking
SUMMARY:
Licensed engineer responsible for leading the development of projects from project kickoff through all phases of design and construction period services to project completion for multiple projects of various sizes, types, complexities and clients.This position may also serve as a project manager and client contact.Technical detailing, problem-solving and organizational skills are essential.Must be a good communicator and willing to be a technical resource for project teams. Acts as Designer of Record.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Possesses diversified knowledge of engineering methods.
-Responsible for technical engineering work on a wide range of projects, and as a designated client contact.
-Work requires application of standard engineering techniques and procedures, professional judgement to make modifications or execute complex features or solutions.
-Assists with preparation of project budgets. Monitors and maintains profitability of assigned projects from initial design through final completion.
-Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
-Monitors client relationship strategies. Attends client meetings.
-Controls work-in-progress; ensures accurate client billings.
-Directs and supervises other engineers’ activities – may perform duties of a supervisor.
-Serves as a leader and mentor to less experienced engineers and technical professionals.
-Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projects.
-Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, prints, tests, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
-Directs technicians/analysts to convert designs to working drawings.
-Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
-Uses computer aided engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
-Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
-Performs construction site observations to monitor progress and other construction management duties per the contract documents.
-Review technical specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with the government requirements.
-Perform drafting on which they serve as design engineer. Occasionally assist others with drafting, possibly across disciplines.
-Responsible for project manager and/or project team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:
-Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of 10 years’
experience.
-Registered professional engineer, preferably in the state of Colorado.
-Valid driver’s license.
