Job Description

1 Senior Structural Engineer role available!

This position is with one of the leading providers in the mining and cement industries.

Candidate must be located in or near Denver, CO.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fully knowledgeable of applicable codes and code requirements for all facets of discipline work.
  • Understands and implements connection designs for structural members.
  • Provides relevant comments during interdisciplinary drawing reviews.
  • Acts as the responsible engineer for the procurement of complex engineered components/packages.
  • Checks complex work produced by a number of people.
  • Provides technical assistance, and coordinates with other project disciplines.
  • Identifies design/engineering problems, and formulates solutions.
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Highly productive at using structural software, creating calculations, and communicating engineering to design staff and other engineers.
  • Understands project construction methods/sequences, and may act as Field Engineer.
  • Performs research and investigations, and interprets data.
  • Prepares project documents/deliverables, and is accountable for the on-time and accurate delivery of calculations and contract documents.
  • Demonstrates a keen knowledge of interdisciplinary interfaces
  • Provides basic costing criteria including quantities and man-hours within their field.
  • Develops discipline-specific construction work packages.
  • Proficient in the use of company engineering tools within the structural group.


Managerial Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work.
  • Manages engineering progress and productivity for individual tasks and simple projects, and implements corrective actions.
  • May prepare scope statements, discipline schedules, and budgets for projects.
  • Supervises work across multiple offices.
  • Effectively manages project scope and project change according to company procedure.
  • Provide on-site engineering field direction as required.
  • Assigns tasks and coordinates the work of engineers, designers, and administrative staff.


Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Membership in a professional organization or society
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structural steel and concrete design. Other disciplines may be considered based on work experience.
  • PE required, multi-state PE registration preferred. SE is also preferred
