Specific Roles and Responsibilities for the Business Analyst position include but are not limited to:
- Support any relevant procurement activities (RFP/RFI/ROM processes) and work with relevant solutions team(s) to communicate requirements and clarify overall understanding of the functionality.
- Facilitate reconciliation of differences voiced by the customer with those in the system proposal, reducing scope creep or impacts to the delivered system’s quality
- Study existing business processes, programs, and/or legacy systems in their native environments and perform a comprehensive analysis of existing problems and understand the areas for improvement
- Lead the creation of UAT documentation (scripts, recording documents) and help coordinate the UAT process and any subsequent bug fixes prior to approval and roll out
- Collaborate closely with product, program, and policy owners to elicit and understand their business needs, define requirements, write user stories, manage a product backlog, and analyze business requirements.
- Present findings, recommendations, and solutions to clients and cross-dependent teams in a clear and concise manner.
- Prepare project documentation like meeting minutes, business process documents and other process workflow diagrams as required.
- Managing requirements traceability information and changes through effective change control processes and tools
- Collaborate with developers and testers by developing test scenarios based on behavior-driven development (BDD) principles
- All interested applicants will be required to provide artifacts – requirements documentation from previous project(s) that may include user stories, user requirements, business process documents, UAT scenarios, etc.
- Making sure solutions are of high quality, meeting business and operational performance indicators and delivering great customer experience
- Identify and understand customer expectations as part of the requirements gathering process and act as the primary point of contact for all communication needs during the requirements gathering phase with the customer
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between upstream and downstream teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
- Provide ongoing support to resolve any issues or questions that arise during the project lifecycle
- Ensure that previous customer program decisions are reviewed and that new ones are recorded with the stakeholder participating to maintain program focus of extended efforts and continuity if customer or company personnel changes occur.
- Provide insightful narrative and updates to project/program managers for progress reporting and board updates.
Business Analyst will have the following qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.
- 6+ years of experience working with an Agile implementation team writing user stories, grooming product backlog, planning out release planning.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle of Agile IT projects
- Possesses a strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present solutions to clients and cross-dependent teams.
- Experience with coordinating activities between upstream and downstream teams.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, specifically working on back-end services projects.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business and management, information systems, computer science, or other related field
Certifications: SAFe Agile and Scrum Master certified preferred
Clearance: Eligible to obtain a public trust clearance
Location: Hybrid, coming 1 to 2 days a week to Sterling VA office.
