Staff Accountant Classification: Full-Time; Year-round, Exempt/Salary Reports to: Director of Finance Pay range: $52,000 - $57,000 Cleveland Play House (CPH) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Finance team. POSITION SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant will perform various duties including reconciling bank and investment statements, oversee daily cash management, and preparing daily bank deposits. This position will also be responsible for reconciling petty cash, maintaining and updating department reports, completing tax exempt filings and performing month and yearend closing procedures in the Accounting System. Maintaining accurate financial records with strong organizational skills is critical to the role. GENERAL DUTIES:

• Complete required tax exempt filings
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Tickets to select CPH productions subject to availability
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
• Excellent understanding of GAAP
• Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS:
• Provide reports to different departments
• Self-motivated and able to work in a group setting or without supervision
• Oversee daily cash management
• Cross train in all A/R, A/P, and payroll functions
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure an accurate representation of CPH's financial activity
• Quickbooks Desktop experience preferred Work Schedule: Flexible Schedule M-F 8am-4pm /9am-5pm Benefits:

• Perform month end and year end close procedures in Accounting system
• Prepare daily bank deposits and post incoming payments
• Strong ability to research and resolve account discrepancies
• Reconcile Investment Statements and resolve any discrepancies that may have been discovered
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Maintain and update department reports and files to be used for Y/E Audit
• 7 vacation days (paid out at end of engagement), 6 paid-time off days, up to 7 company holidays, and 2 discretionary holidays
• Non-profit experience preferred
• Reconcile Petty Cash to ensure that funds are being used appropriately
• Optional enrollment in a 401(k) plan (not matched by CPH)

• Work with Director of Finance to learn and understand all aspects of the financial process
• Assist with process improvements
• Data entry proficiency

• Prepare Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
• Strong computer skills utilizing MS Office products, specifically Excel
