Splunk Developer Jobs

Edgewater is currently seeking a Splunk Developer to support our federal customer in the Washington DC area.

Responsibilities

• Comfortable working with bash, PowerShell, and batch scripts; ability to develop scripts in these languages to support Splunk deployments
• Builds and maintains advanced visualizations, customized to customer use cases, such as dashboards, reports
• Experienced SPL developer, creating dashboards, reports and knowledge objects.
• Delivering Use Cases into production for Operations, Technical Monitoring and Business Process.
• Strong skills with a scripting language; Python preferred, JavaScript
• Experienced with complex nested queries
• Troubleshooting ability to diagnose the root of failure for Dashboards and Data onboarding
• Ability to develop complex dashboard with little guidance
• Develop custom Splunk apps to meet customer needs in a variety of domains: IT security, IT ops, physical security, Research, Scientific, Medical/Clinical Care
• Implements integration with external systems
• Experience in building Splunk Technology Add-ons and configuring field extractions for various data sources
• Prepares detailed framework design and testing documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills and the ability to collaborate well in a dynamic team environment. 
• Education/Experience: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and a minimum of 12 years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level post graduate work may be expected.
• Experience leading projects and/or mentoring junior team members

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience supporting large, complex, federal Splunk deployments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to include the ability to influence decisions with business units and technical leadership; Ability to communicate in both formal and casual situations.
• Proven experience advancing federal agency compliance with OMB M-21-31
• Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with calm effectiveness
• Proven experience supporting Splunk CDM deployments
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while being flexible and able to handle rapidly-changing scenarios, and are someone who sees 'ambiguity' as an opportunity rather than a hurdle.
• True change agent - not intimidated by challenge of unknown and willing to challenge status quo.
• Splunk certifications (Core Consultant, Developer, Architect)
