Job Description

Business Analyst

Optomi, in partnership with a global financial services company, is seeking a Business Analyst for their Baltimore MD location.


About the Position:

Looking for a developer turned analyst


4-8 years of experience

Knowledge of financial services, fixed income, Charles river

  • Software documentaion
  • Trading is 24/7 - morning production issues, outstanding issues, log intake items into Trello/Rally boards for stand ups. Organizing and keeping follow up tasks to help Eddie focus on bigger project items
  • Analyst - augment staff to handle agile ceremonies, do data analysis, testing applications, handling daily email requests, articulate requirements to the developersSQL - how to get data out of somewhere so they don’t have to ask the developers
  • Microsoft VISO
  • Proficient in Excel
  • EX: Hong Kong - had an issue with a trade looking like it was a duplicate. Analyst would determine who made the request, how high of a priority, who would it be assigned to, etc
  • API - developers can give API call, just take the JSUN and put into Excel

Must Have Skills/ Requirements:

  • Interact with people on the trading desk to understand the business problem to translate that into technical requirement
  • Asset management experience/trading - top thing he's looking for

Tech expertise in trading technologies

  1. Net
  2. Cloud/infrastructure

Nice to Have Skills/ Requirements:

  • Agile cert
  • Read/have worked with C# code
