Splunk Cloud Engineer Jobs

4+ years of experience with deploying, configuring, and performing functional testing and data validation in a Splunk environment

Experience implementing Splunk installations from the ground up, including various server roles (Search Head, Indexers, Heavy Forwarders and Universal Forwarders, etc.)

Must have advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, and cloud technologies

Preferred certifications: Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, CISSP, AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure, GMON

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Experienced SPL developer, creating dashboards, reports and knowledge objects.

Experienced with complex nested queries

Experience in building Splunk Technology Add-ons and configuring field extractions for various data sources

Strong skills with a scripting language; Python preferred, JavaScript

Experience leading projects and/or mentoring junior team members

Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills and the ability to collaborate well in a dynamic team environment. 

• Ability to summarize key points and present to management and clients during meetings

Remote + 1 day onsite each week in Herndon, VA

• 3+ years of experience with Splunk to include onboarding, configuration, and optimization

• 3+ years of experience with Linux CLI

• Experience with network security and system security, including supporting SIEM tools

• Knowledge of security technologies and information security and networking best practices

Implement risk management programs for our federal clients by utilizing NIST, RMF, and FISMA compliance frameworks.

Experience working with RMF and NIST 800-53

Experience working with cyber security tools

Experience with cyber awareness (e.g., phishing emails, cyber trainings)

Knowledge of enterprise logging, including application, OS, security technology logging andSplunkit framework

Ensure data quality in line with client’s use cases and maintain current functional and technical knowledge of theSplunkplatform

Experience and familiarity with IT management products and services.

Manages system/application environment and ongoing operations

Manages problem or escalated tickets and tasks and out of cycle requests from systems/software owners

4+ years related work experience. Experience Details: Demonstrated proficiency and experience in design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting technology

Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field

Extensive working knowledge of multiple technologies and their interfaces and integration

Sound knowledge in Splunk, programming languages like Python and working experience in AWS, S3, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and XML.

Develop visualizations, alerts and reports to end user applications based on customer requirements for each individual tower.

Deployed and managed applications running on a mix of Kubernetes and AWS

Knowledge of data collectors and connections in Microsoft Azure sentinel

Knowledge of enabling automation rules and health monitoring using Azure Sentinel

Integrate applications like Akamai, Mulesoft, Dynatrace and Devops with Splunk in Non-Prod environments and replicate the same in PROD environment
