Job Description
Job Title: Speech Language Pathology Assistant Supervisor: Director of Special Education Start Date: ImmediatelyHours: Monday through Friday; LMS 8:15 am-4:45 pm, Upper School 8:45 am-5:15 pmSalary range: $45-50k depending on relevant experienceOVERVIEW: Codman Academy is looking for a full-time Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLP/A) to work throughout the district. The SLP/A works under the supervision of a speech and language pathologist to deliver services to students as outlined within their individualized educational plan. The qualifications and responsibilities are as follows: QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of a school speech language pathology assistant program or equivalent.Bachelor's DegreeLicensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Speech Language Pathology and AudiologyExperience in school based practice preferredFull vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide speech language services to students Pre-K through grade 12 who have speech and language related disabilities.Work under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP)Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills with students, parents, staff, and administration.Provide speech and language development services as per the IEPConsult and/or co-teach with classroom teachers and recommend communication systems/approaches to maximize student growth.Attend IEP meetings as requiredProvide narrative progress reports on all pupils on caseloadPrepares materials and activities for therapy sessionsFunction as part of a team to help our students develop skills for success in everyday life around effective communication.Keeps data for program planning and decision-making for students.Safeguards confidentiality of student records.Adheres to established rules, regulations, laws, and appropriate ethical standards.Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws.Complies with established lines of authority within the parameters of professional standards.Perform other duties relating to the program as required.Assist classroom teacher and/or special education teacher in implementing accommodations and/or modifications for students requiring such support.
