Roles & Responsibilities

  • Communicate and collaborate with parents and school community for the purpose of fostering student success and achievement and meeting special education laws and policies.
  • Participate as a team member with responsibility for the identification, eligibility, and placement of speech and language impaired students.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for assigned students and to meet individual student needs.
  • Foster and manage a safe, positive learning environment for the purpose of promoting effective student behavior and success.
  • Engage in continuing education studies which insures professional growth.
  • Recognize individual student learning needs and develop strategies to address those needs for the purpose of promoting individual achievement.
  • Maintain and process accurate records/documents as required by state and federal regulations and district policy.
  • Perform other duties of similar scope and function.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours specified under contract.
  • Develop therapy schedules and provide Speech Language Pathology (SLP) services for students with speech and language impairments from preschool through age 21 in accordance with their IEP.
  • Plan and provide clear and intentional focused instruction based upon individual student IEP goals.
  • Direct the work of assigned classified staff and SLPA.
  • Participate in and facilitate various meetings for the purpose of addressing student goals and needs, and to meet laws and policies.
  • Evaluate, implement and monitor augmentative communication devices for appropriate students including devices for deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Fulfill legal responsibilities, implement and comply with federal and state laws, district policies and other guiding principles, and State Code of Professional Conduct.

  • Ability to build an environment of trust, teamwork and effective communication.
  • Ability to address a variety of speech/language deficits.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development.
  • Knowledge of current assistive technology.
  • Ability to identify and address personal, cultural, and institutional bias.

Requirements

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in residing/practicing state or willing to obtain (Next Level Speech Therapy will reimburse)

Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
