Fisker Automotive is looking for an enthusiastic Logistics Planning Specialist to join our growing team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Logistics Network Planning, this role will be responsible for supporting Fisker’s cost-effective and efficient finished vehicle logistics (FVL) transportation network, processes, and systems as well as looking for opportunities for continuous improvement within the current and future networks. This role will work closely with stakeholders to strengthen Fisker’s distribution network.
Responsibilities
  • Act as primary contact for internal stakeholders with special transportation needs
  • Administer change requests with contracted vendors and coordinate time studies when necessary
  • Prepare reports on logistics performance measures and own logistics-related databases
  • Support network optimization opportunities
  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of international and domestic network planning
  • Consult with Purchasing and Operations for all FVL bids
  • Oversee contract and SOW formulation, vendor negotiations
  • Direct responsibility for spot market transportation
  • Recommend improvements to existing or planned vehicle logistics processes
  • Consult with parts logistics and delivery center locations
  • Work closely together with the FVL Team to ensure smooth interface between the Domestic and Global network
  • Support current and future RFQs and bid events
  • Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, production volumes, or carriers, and advise on process and flow optimization
  • Identify future network needs as Fisker expands into new markets
Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience with conducting RFQ and bids
  • Proficiency with preparing FVL bid documents such as: SOW, RFQ, and MSA
  • Multi-cultural interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English, language skills in German or any other European language are a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Well organized, strong attention to detail, advanced analytical and critical thinking skills as well as an initiative-taking mindset
  • Advanced skills of MS Office applications, specifically Excel
  • IT systems experience and skills including knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and customer data systems
  • Deep knowledge of principles for transporting vehicles by rail, road, and sea
  • Advanced knowledge of FVL transportation and logistics service providers
  • Degree in logistics, supply chain management, operations, or comparable
  • Prior experience (3-5 years) in logistics/supply chain/ transportation function within an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable working in face-paced environment
  • Understanding of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export, understanding of customs and legal requirements are a plus
  • Understanding of US truck transport and rail infrastructure

Additional Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel both domestically, as well as internationally, as required
Expected Salary Range: $46,060.00 - $128,310.00 a year.
Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker’s equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.
The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, considering the wide variety of factors listed above.
