The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections has a permanent, full-time opening for a Special Investigator 1 position within the Bureau of Investigations and Intelligence. As a Special Investigator for the Department of Corrections, you will be performing technical criminal investigative work of a confidential nature. This position is responsible for conducting background investigators on new employees and contract service providers to determine suitability for employment. Work duties include conducting and assisting with criminal and administrative investigations regarding allegations of criminal activity or violations of the Department of Corrections Code of Ethics.
This position is a Confidential position covered under Management Directive 515.12 Amended.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Two years of experience in criminal investigation work and a bachelor's degree; or
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
