Special Education Job - Burbank, Illinois (2023-24 School Year)

Start/End Date: August 14, 2023 - May 24, 2024

Shift Time: 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM (Junior high varies slightly)

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Burbank, Illinois. This position is for the duration of the school year, starting on August 14, 2023, and concluding on May 24, 2024. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work in an instructional/co-taught classroom, providing support to students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in the classroom setting.
• Serve as a case manager and oversee all Individualized Education Program (IEP) paperwork and student progress updates.
• Manage a caseload of less than 20 students, depending on the setting.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to develop and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications.

Requirements

• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• LBS I (Learning Behavior Specialist I) certification is required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
