WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Product Planning
Create, plan and prioritize the product backlog on a regular basis to ensure work focuses on items with maximum value, ensuring there are always an adequate number of stories in the product backlog that meet the definition of Ready prior to planning meetings with development team. (50%)
Guide Collaborative Product Efforts
Actively participate in regular agile development meetings including but not limited to the following. Product Backlog Refinement meetings with the development team prior to sprint planning to improve clarity of requirements of user stories. Sprint Planning meetings with the development team to plan sprint workload, including the collaboration of development tasks and tests. Sprint Review meetings to share sprint goals and review completed work with product stakeholders. Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release and sprint goals. Work with development team and technical writing team to write and manage release notes of completed features. Work with the training team to ensure they have what they need to create educational collateral used by both internal and external customers as new features are completed. (25%)
Share the Vision
Work closely with Product Management leaders to understand product strategy and vision enabling you to provide the agile product team with clear vision, direction and understanding of the product backlog. (15%)
Leadership
Lead and motivate employees to provide best in class solutions for the product being created to best align their contribution towards the products impact on the overall organizational success by using effective leadership techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Process Management: Ability to manage a repeatable process to improve the outcome of the product.
- Composure: Ability to stay calm and in control in tense or frustrating situations.
- Delegation: Ability to effectively entrust responsibilities to others.
- Teamwork: Ability to build and sustain cooperative working relationships.
- Action Oriented: Ability to willingly take practical action to deal with a problem or situation in a timely manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technology, information systems or software engineering course of study or relevant experience required.
- Perseverance: Ability to do something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
- Motivating Others: Ability to lead others in a positive and effective way that leads to high reward results.
- Communication: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, team members and customers.
- 3 years of experience in product management or a field related to software product development.
- 2 years experience with the assigned product lines.
- 1 year leading cross-functional teams.
- Organization: The ability to arrange resources to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner.
- Customer Focus: Ability to cultivate relationships that secure commitment and trust with external and internal customer needs.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify the information needed to solve problems effectively.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
This job may require domestic travel up to 5% of the time.
WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This full-time, exempt position is located in Boulder, Colorado or remote with availability during core hours of 9am to 4pm MT. Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
RELOCATION
Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay
$78000 - $109500 / year
