Job Description

Position summary:

The Software Engineer will design and develop embedded software for vehicle access products.


Job Family: Engineer/Technical

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Agile Scrum teams through sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, sprint reviews and daily standups.
  • Support engineering in new product development and managing lessons learned.
  • Write C Code to meet functional and technical specifications.
  • Perform peer reviews on all artifacts during the lifecycle of a project.
  • Code compliance to MISRA-C, CERTC and ADAC coding guidelines.
  • Support Test Lab functional test requirements.
  • Support manufacturing regarding inline product testing methods, specifications and equipment selection.
  • Evaluate, assess and troubleshoot electronics content contained in core product base.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Computer or Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Science or related field
  • Software design experience is preferred
  • 0-5 years of work experience
  • Ability to launch and lead software development with direct supervision
  • Ability to work with Global Teams

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

  • EE department and SW Group development
  • Purchasing/budgeting electronic parts and test equipment
  • Support VA/VE efforts

  • MS Office
  • Ability to root cause issues utilizing 8D, Kepnor-Tregoe and Fishbones
  • Ability to contribute to peer design reviews

Supervision Received:

  • Specific Direction: Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions/conditions to immediate supervisor.
