About The Team

The Data Infrastructure team manages DoorDash's massive data warehouse and data lake, and makes data accessible for teams driving decision making, machine learning, and experimentation. The team is relatively small, so there's an opportunity for impact where you can help grow the team and shape the roadmap for the data platform at DoorDash. You will report directly into the Data Infrastructure Engineering Manager. You must be located in the Bay Area or Seattle for this hybrid role.

You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…

• Help accelerate the adoption of the data lake by building streaming support for spark service, enable self-serve ETL through full abstraction with support for scala, sql, python jobs, and drive operational optimizations through self-heal and increased spot instance utilization
• Collaborate in a dynamic startup environment
• Come up with solutions for scaling data systems for various business needs
• Work on our near real-time ingestion, etl frameworks, orchestration service and data quality platform to enable data builders at DoorDash deliver high-quality and trustable data sets and metrics

We’re Excited About You Because…

• 2+ years of experience with CS fundamental concepts and experience with at least one of the programming languages of Scala, Java, and Python
• Prior technical experience in Big Data infrastructure & applications - you've built meaningful pieces of data infrastructure. Bonus if those were open-sourced big data processing frameworks using technologies like Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Flink, Debezium
• Experience improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of data platforms
• You are located or are willing to locate to the Bay Area or Seattle
• B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

In addition to base salary, the compensation package for this role also includes opportunities for equity grants.

California Pay Range:

$144,500—$195,500 USD

Washington Pay Range:

$144,500—$195,500 USD
