The Opportunity

Our brand, Rouse Services, is hiring a Staff Engineer, Data Engineering to support our critical line of business operations by building and optimizing Cloud Data pipelines and helping to define, set, and maintain the Cloud Data Engineering practice. You'll accomplish this using modern frameworks and technologies in accordance with industry and Rouse standards of software engineering. This is a remote role reporting to our Beverly Hills, CA location.

What You'll Do:

• Mentor other team members
• Implement and architect solutions in collaboration with engineering leadership
• Design, develop, debug, and deploy scalable, efficient, and reusable code
• Manage, define, and break down tasks in an agile environment
• Write code as part of a collaborative team, building features that play a visible and critical role.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues with deployed systems
• Provide rapid response to the needs of the team.
• Maintain documentation and source control; define standards of the Cloud Data Engineering practice in conjunction with Rouse Engineering leadership.
• Own the problem and scope solutions that line up with business objectives

What we need from you:

• Experience with machine learning a plus
• Strong knowledge of and experience with Cloud Data practices and familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud providers
• Ownership mindset and capability of self-managing tasks, scope, and priorities
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, test, and develop solutions independently
• Significant experience with building and maintaining performant data pipelines
• Expertise in Python and SQL; at least five to seven years of experience in data engineering

The base salary range for this role is $120,300 - $180,500 per year. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location (for remote roles) and other job-related reasons.
