Position Summary
This is a remote position within Pennsylvania, USA.
Thales is looking for a Software Development Intern whose core work will be on development, with supervision, of unit tests and porting a stand-alone application into Svelte/SvelteKit/Google Material Design web application with .Net Core REST API.
In this position, as a Software Development Intern, you will consult with the Team Lead on the development standards and best practices to guarantee the application is with responsive design and cross-browser compatible.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Lead Senior Software Developer expected daily to:
- Perform research and documentation duties assigned by management.
- Work, with supervision, on porting a stand-alone application into Node.js Svelte/SvelteKit web application unitizing Google Material Design and .net Core REST API backend, developing unit tests based on xUnit and troubleshoot a Java based application.
Minimum Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Node.js, Svelte/SvelteKit (or similar JS frameworks such as React), Google Material Design, HTML/CSS, .net Core REST API with C#, xUnit tests and fixtures as well as core Java hands-on experience.
- Must have a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
- Bachelor’s degree candidate from Computer Science, Information Systems or Mathematics BS program (min GPA 3.8).
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Node.js, Svelte and SvelteKit
- Google Material Design HTML/CSS
- C#, .NET Core REST API and xUnit
- Java
- MS Visual Studio Code or Studio 2019 and above
- C and assembler
