Software Development Engineer, Amazon Delivery Experience

We are seeking a strong Software development Engineer to lead Prime Delivery Experience worldwide. Prime Delivery is the highest profile and most important benefit for Prime customers shopping on Amazon retail website. It is an incredibly innovative space since customers deeply care about the experience (e.g. speed, convenience, price) of how we deliver packages to them. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to literally change the world by delighting millions of customers.

This Engineer will be building the next generation shopping experience and systems in order to provide a world-class Prime Delivery experience. You will be work on set of technologies (full-stack) leveraging AWS and common industry standards. As a member of our team, you will work closely with the business to design and implement new features. You will contribute to all aspects of an agile software development life cycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing and operations. You will push your design and architecture limits by owning all aspects of solutions end-to-end, through full stack software development. You will develop highly scalable, low latency, intelligent software that will have a massive impact for customers. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven, and can deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
