Job Description

This position is hybrid eligible. Must be able to come into the Stanford Redwood City, California office at least two days a week per current hybrid work arrangement.

Job Purpose:

The position will be reporting to the Director of the Service management and technology within Enterprise Technology (ET) in University IT (UIT). This position requires a good combination of functional and technical knowledge of Incorta and ServiceNow features for different enterprise applications. A successful candidate will have demonstrated a track record of delivering quality solutions providing with the highest value to the Organization and solid technical expertise on Incorta and ServiceNow. The candidate should have experience in performing production support activities including, and not limited to, maintaining system configurations, data cleanup, testing, filing/resolving service requests, and estimating enhancements.

The Cross platform systems team is responsible for the support, maintenance, operations and upgrades of ServiceNow,Salesforce as well as other third party/custom applications/integrations and applications custom developed internally at Stanford.

The expected pay range for this position is $80,000 – $125,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Core Duties:

  • Design and develop applications that may involve sophisticated data manipulation.
  • Serve as technical resource with respect to applications.
  • Design and implement user and operations training programs.
  • Maintain and update existing programs.
  • Follow team software development methodology.
  • Document changes in software for end users.
  • Create programs to meet reporting and analysis needs.
  • Assess user needs and requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical problems.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS or related field and 3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to recognize and recommend needed changes in user and/or operations procedures.
  • Strong understanding of data design, architecture, relational databases, and data modeling.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of software development life cycle and quality control practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
  • Demonstrated experience leading activities on structured team development projects.
  • Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods.
  • Required knowledge on Incorta reporting platform.
  • Ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications.
  • Required knowledge on ServiceNow ITSM/PPM module.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and programming tools.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Should have ServiceNow admin certification.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM (and its reporting solution) and PPM is required. This includes configuration, administration, or development.
  • Experience in integration tools like Snaplogic is a plus
  • Experience in Cloud data solutions such Snowflake and Redshift is a plus
  • Experience in Pyspark and SQL for data transformation
  • Working knowledge on Agile development process
  • Experience in tools like Tableau, AWS Quicksight or Power BI is a plus
  • Experience using Incorta (development and support) is a required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Rarely use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand.
  • Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
