Leland Stanford, Jr. University seeks a Software Developer II in Redwood City, CA.
Design methods to validate data. Perform the following duties: Conceptualize design, implement, and develop solutions for complex system/programs independently using Agile Methodology (SCRUMM) or Waterfall software development methodology. Design methods to validate data. Explore creative approach to using or presenting data based on technical expertise and distribute reports to different users using Oracle Database, Incorta datalake or Tableau visualizations. Document system builds and application configurations; maintain and update documentation as needed using WIKI (Confluence) or ServiceNow Knowledge base. Provide technical analysis, design, development, conversion, and implementation work in ServiceNow applications leveraging best practices learned from various ServiceNow certification. Serve as a technical resource for different ServiceNow application modules (Incident, Case Management, Support Request, Catalog) and various ServiceNow configuration and development tools (Workflow, Client and Server Scripting, ACL, Service Portal, Angular KS). Service as technical resource for Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation and Data Science using Python, Pyspark scripting and SQ. Evaluate, and implement new features and technologies, and integrate them into the current implementation of ServiceNow SAAS. Interact with team members, the user community and others on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate identification business requirements and delivery of technical solution leveraging IT Service Management (ITSM) standards. Act as point of contact between IT and the customer. Mentor lower level software developers. Collaborate with their peers on enterprise-wide integration requirements for ServiceNow applications and Reporting tools in Incorta, Oracle database or Tableau. Work with Business Owners and Analysts for system enhancements and upgrades. Performs production support, using a thorough understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle and quality control practices. Follow team software development methodology (such as Waterfall, Scrum or Agile). Adapt to different software version control and management (such as SVN and Git). Propose, conceptualize, design, implement, and develop solutions for difficult and complex ServiceNow applications and modules. Responsible for functional testing, debugging, change control, and documentation for major projects. Define complex application development administration and programming standards. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems. Collaborate with peers, as necessary, for special systems and application development in areas of complex problems.
May telecommute within area of intended employment at employer’s discretion.
Requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS or related field and five years of progressive experience in systems development.
Must possess 5 years of experience in:
- Python, Pyspark scripting and SQL.
- ServiceNow Administration, workflow, client and server scripting, ACL, Service portal and Angular JS.
- Using data warehouse or data lake and reporting tools such as Oracle Database, Incorta and Tableau.
- Performing production support activities, including evaluating Patches/Fixes, maintaining system configuration.
Must possess knowledge and understanding of variety of machine learning techniques & data science and hold a ServiceNow certificate.
The expected pay for this position is $127,500 per annum.
