Job Description
Overview:
Responsible for monitoring assigned patient's safety and comfort under the supervision of a licensed nurse based on age specific needs. Must be able to report any unusual or untoward behavior of patients requiring intervention by assigned licensed personnel. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
Responsibilities:
1. Insures monitoring of patient safety.
  • Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the unit.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required and directed.
  • Assumes responsibility for insuring continued occupational growth and age specific competencies.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to exchange and provide patient care information to licensed personnel

  • Communication skills to provide comfort and support to the patient and their family.
  • Uses proper channels of communication


DIRECTION/SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • May have Prolonged periods of standing and walking on a continuous basis
  • Must provide constant monitoring of patients during assigned shift and must stay awake and alert during assigned shift.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • May be exposed to communicable diseases and bio-hazardous materials


OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understands and adheres to West Tennessee Healthcare’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy
