Description
Site Training Coordinator

The Site Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and executing staff training to support service delivery and compliance with service documentation and performance; completing external funder reporting requirements and internal U.S.VETS reporting requirements; coordinating, facilitating and executing staff development and employee engagement activities to provide support to employees. The Site Training Coordinator is the lead role in coordinating training activities related to direct services, programs, clinical care, and employee health and welfare. The position reports directly to the Human Resources Business Partner/Officer at the local U.S.VETS site.

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and/or lead safety trainings, including first aid and emergency response training
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement
  • Lead new hire orientation, ensuring that new staff members are onboarded effectively and efficiently
  • Achieves instructor certifications for site- or grant-required trainings (e.g., Mental Health First Aid, CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention)
  • Conduct evaluations and gather feedback from participants to improve training programs
  • Coordinates and executes staff training according to the annual training calendar and in collaboration with Human Resources positions to ensure each staff member completes a minimum requirement of 40 hours of training/year (or as otherwise required by any particular funder) to include completing required training topics
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Facilitates annual training calendar for clinical and program staff according to the training requirements as determined by the National Clinical and Program team
  • Maintain accurate records of training programs, attendance, and evaluations
  • Develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, and assessments
  • Facilitates client trainings as required by grant funding or site-specific requirements
  • Coordinate logistics for training events, including venue, catering, and materials
  • Collaborates with management staff to identify training needs and create targeted training programs
  • Research and identify potential trainers and speakers for training events
  • Ensures staff trainings include a competency-based assessment upon conclusion of the training to ensure training retention as required by funders or accreditation(e.g., Post-training test)
  • Deliver training programs, either in person or virtually, and facilitate discussions and activities
  • Assist in coordination of the mentorship program, including matching mentors with mentees and providing training to mentors
  • Implement staff development plans and training, including career development and skills training
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and execute staff retention and employee engagement initiatives, developing programs and resources to help new staff members integrate into the organization and feel supported
  • Track staff compliance with grant and accreditation trainings, ensuring that all staff members meet the necessary training requirements

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Professional manner and appearance
  • Ability to take general direction, work independently and within a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge/experience working with veterans preferred
  • Proficiency in computer and information systems to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Internet, and the ability to use client tracking databases and electronic case records.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse group of clients, staff, and community members
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with coordination of training, event planning, curriculum development, and facilitating adult education
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • Bachelors degree in social services or other related field required
