JOB OVERVIEW

The Shipping Manager oversees all logistics and is the last point in the quality check as shipments leave the business.This role is a balance of being on your feet to physically prepare shipments and using company software to manage communication and prepare required documentation for shipments.

• Oversee all shipments from small packages through UPS and FedEx to deliveries of all sizes to larger multi pallet LTL shipments.
• Support the department’s main goal of delivering high quality finished goods in
• Use company software and systems to process and track all orders in accordance with demand, quality standards and timeframes.
• Manage team members and lead a culture of ensuring accuracy and surpassing expectations.
• Establish and enforce proper quality control processes and improvements, seeking better ship options and eliminating delays.
• Prepare and organize all planning documents, compliance guides, routing requirements and more per each account.
• Monitor inventory levels and perform physical inventory counts on shipping supplies and warehoused product.
• Manage all shipping and logistic related activities with a high level of compliance and accuracy.
• Collaborate with other departments regarding potential order or inventory issues.
• Master product knowledge to streamline order flow, increase output and work smarter.
• Communicate with freight carriers.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Ensure department is maintained and organized for safety, production and cleanliness.

QUALIFICIATIONS

• High energy and ability to perform both computer and physical work (lifting to 50 lbs)
• Passionate about the product and role within the company
• Knowledge of best shipping practices to ensure product does not get damaged during shipping and palletizing process.
• Willingness to assist beyond job description boundaries as often the case in small businesses.
• Knowledgeable and experienced enough to step right into a fast-paced work environment.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of working within a team environment and independently.
• Minimum of 2 years or more in a role of Shipping Manager
