Job Description

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the shipping and logistics activities of a company. This role involves ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods from the warehouse or production facility to customers or distribution centers. The Shipping Coordinator works closely with various internal departments, freight carriers, and external partners to facilitate smooth shipping operations and ensure customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Order Processing: Receive and process customer orders, verifying accuracy and completeness. Prepare shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and customs paperwork, as required.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and track stock movement. Ensure that adequate stock levels are available to fulfill customer orders promptly.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of shipping services, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance shipping efficiency and accuracy.
  • Shipping Documentation: Prepare and maintain shipping records, manifests, and tracking information. Provide updates to customers or internal stakeholders on shipment status as needed.
  • Packaging and Labeling: Ensure that products are appropriately packaged and labeled for safe transportation and compliance with shipping regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to address shipping-related inquiries, track shipments, and resolve any shipping issues or delays promptly.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, when applicable, to facilitate smooth customs clearance.


Requirements:

  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and shipping partners.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require a bachelor's degree).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
