Job Description
Röchling Industrial Mt. Pleasant is a custom machine shop for component parts. We machine both thermoplastic and composite materials. Industries served include but are not limited to transportation, power transmission and distribution, water treatment, food processing, and heavy equipment.

Shipping Clerk


Where we need you


Under the direction of the Shipping Coordinator, complete the necessary packaging, receiving, and shipping functions.


This includes packaging (ground and freight), posting orders/inventory in NAV, pulling/restocking items from inventory, scheduling trucks, getting quotes, using UPS/FedEx parcel software, cut rod orders, visually inspect incoming parcels/freight, completing corresponding sign-off for individual work instruction, count validation of goods to be shipped, and emptying trash and daily cleanup.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


The items listed below are good representative of the responsibilities required, but others may be assigned as necessary.


  • Cut/measure cut to orders for rod
  • Post Sales Orders in NAV
  • Generate barcode labels in FedEx/UPS software for ground parcel shipments
  • Initial work instruction completion (qty. or additional paperwork requested)
  • Restock additional/overrun material (Item#, WO# and qty.)
  • Recognize highlighted sales notes (Inspection Record, C of C, C of A, customer specific notations)
  • Pull material from machined stock inventory (check bin location)
  • Notate incoming damages on receiving paperwork (contact supervisor if needed or Quality Manager)
  • Efficiently package material and stage for shipment to customer
  • Accurately recognize material, verify count and match with shipping documents
  • Recognize damage to incoming packages, pallets or containers from freight companies
  • Efficiently wrap or band material ready for shipment *Effectively operate equipment such as a fork-truck, banding machine, and computer
  • Provide daily shipment paperwork to office
  • Complete international paperwork (NAFTA, Declaration, Invoice, Power of Attorney)
  • Run/print end of day or weekly reports for office staff
  • Load freight on LTL trucks
  • Add prepaid G/L amounts when needed
  • Post/complete portal shipments
  • Complete BOL’s for freight shipments
  • Call freight carriers to schedule pickups and generate quotes when needed
  • Clean up/sweep/empty trash each day

Education


High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.


Language Skills


Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as orders with special instructions, safety rules and operating/procedure manuals. Must have a basic understanding of reading shipping related documents. Must be able to accurately complete paperwork, including final quality checks. Must have the ability to communicate problems with equipment or material to their lead man or supervisor.


Mathematical Skills


Must be able to convert measurements from metric to standard. Must be able to apply basic math skills.


Reasoning Ability


Must be have the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carrying out instructions issued either verbally, written or diagramed.


Other Requirements


Must have the ability to read measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, or tape measures, rod diameter gage.


Physical Demands


The employee must be able to withstand the physical requirements of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with a disability to perform these duties. While performing the duties of the position, the operator will be required occasionally to stand, kneel, bend or stoop. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs and stand for 6-8 hours per day. This position requires the ability to make visual judgment of both finished and work in process material.


Job Type: Full-time


Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
