Sewing Operators Needed - We Will Train! Mon-Fri. No Weekends!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Level 3: Must be fully cross-trained, able to assemble any product using any machine in the sewing area, consistently achieve 100% efficiency with acceptable quality on assigned work; must be able to repair sewing work as needed to support daily production goals; able to train and share best practice sewing methods with other sewers.
• Perform daily maintenance on machines in area as assigned.
• Practice energy conservation in every area such as turning off machine when not in use.
• Level 1: Assemble part of any product using one machine, achieving a minimum of 70% efficiency within 90-day probationary period; must assume personal responsibility for achieving quality goals and demonstrate continuous improvement towards achieving 100% efficiency on assigned work within 6 months.
• Return product to workflow.
• Under limited supervision, will perform sewing functions to assemble product pieces.
• Must be able to receive the product pieces and learn the order of pieces hanging.
• Anything else deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
• Notify supervisors of any problems or discrepancies during the sewing process.
• Level 2: Must be able to assemble products using 2 to 3 different sewing machines, consistently achieve 100% efficiency with acceptable quality on assigned work; must be able to repair sewing work as needed to support daily production goals; able to train and share best practice sewing methods with other sewers.
• Follow instructions and complete other work as assigned.
• Draw threads through needles and adjust machine functions to meet the requirements of the sewing project.
• Complete assigned sewing work with acceptable productivity and output rates as outlined below:
  • Level 1: Assemble part of any product using one machine, achieving a minimum of 70% efficiency within 90-day probationary period; must assume personal responsibility for achieving quality goals and demonstrate continuous improvement towards achieving 100% efficiency on assigned work within 6 months.
  • Level 2: Must be able to assemble products using 2 to 3 different sewing machines, consistently achieve 100% efficiency with acceptable quality on assigned work; must be able to repair sewing work as needed to support daily production goals; able to train and share best practice sewing methods with other sewers.
  • Level 3: Must be fully cross-trained, able to assemble any product using any machine in the sewing area, consistently achieve 100% efficiency with acceptable quality on assigned work; must be able to repair sewing work as needed to support daily production goals; able to train and share best practice sewing methods with other sewers.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Good communication skills both with peers and supervisors.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with priorities that may change frequently
• Ability to solve problems and work with a team to continuously improve production processes and achieve daily production goals.
• Sewing skills and the ability to cross-train on hemming, overlock, felling, single needle, binding and tacking processes.
• Show knowledgeable use of sewing machine. (i.e., changing needle, changing thread as well as bobbins)
• Able to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
• Some computer knowledge and able to utilize shop floor data collection systems which may include data entry into a tablet or computer.
• Able to comply with company safety, attendance and all other company policies.

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE

1 to 3 months industrial sewing and/or training preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Be able to stand full shift.
• Must be able to reach, stretch and bend.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to perceive colors and shades of colors.
• Must be able to work in a moderate noise level.
• Must have 20/20 vision or corrected to 20/20.
