Job Description

Description:
The Role

As a Senior Youth Program Leader you will be an emerging leader on the programs team serving as a back up to the Site Lead. Engaging in a wide range of team functions designed to prepare you for leadership advancement. You will help build and implement a quality youth program that enriches our youth with confidence, character, connection, competence and contribution. Your contribution to the organization is to ensure a safe, organized learning environment for youth by successfully ensuring the assigned program curriculum and daily program activities are implemented. Reporting to the Site Lead, you will do this by:

Professional Development & Leadership (60%) Provide support and guidance with direct reports; Administer and execute training and development plans to help employees succeed in their respective line of work; Plan classroom management/discipline/program facilitation training workshops for youth program leader staff in collaborating with HR; Monitor employee performance; Supports onboarding of new team members providing initial classroom management/discipline/program facilitation training with continuous feedback; Work with Site Leads to identify and facilitate classroom and program performance improvements; Maintain strong communication with ICAN Main and other Site Leads.

Establishing Community Relationships(30%) Coordinate and communicate effectively with school district staff, parents and community organizations; Follow school expectations for satellite site; Maintain organized educational learning environment for youth following school guidelines; Develops and contributes to relationships with appropriate school staff to better meet the individual needs of children and youth;

Coordinating & Facilitating Youth Programs (5%) Promoting member retention through positive, professional relations with youth and families; Assisting with development, implementation and facilitation of program curricula; Supporting ICAN’s Homework Help programming, assisting youth members with homework and/or educational activities including worksheets, reading, etc; ensures all facilitated programs and activities are culturally competent and age appropriate; maintains the ability to facilitate research based programming in the absence of program staff; Administering feedback solutions and evaluation instruments with additional tools as scheduled, collecting, tracking and monitoring progress toward program outcomes,

ICAN Ambassador (5%) Aligns daily practices with organization’s mission, vision, and values; Serve as an ambassador and role model upholding ICAN’s guidelines and rules according to the behavior management philosophy and consistently delivers behavioral support and consequences as identified in the behavior management plan; Collaborates with team members to achieve common goals for quality program facilitation; Ensures safety of all youth, volunteers and staff on site by following ICAN’s risk management plan; Performs all duties and responsibilities with discipline and accountability.

Requirements:
Experience/Skills

Minimum of 1 year in college in Social Work, Education or related field of study or 24 months’ experience in youth program facilitation and implementation

Minimum of 21 years old and valid AZ driver’s license

Dependable vehicle with proof of current registration and valid insurance.

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Displays enthusiasm and promotes a friendly group environment

Effectively communicates to groups of 15-22 youth

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
