Based in one of three locations (Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis) or a major metro area, the Senior Vice President of Product Management reports directly to the Region President (US/LATAM) of the Installation Products (formerly Thomas and Betts)
Division. This role will have the unique opportunity to play a key role in the growth of the ABB Electrification Installation Products US and LATAM regions. Through their efforts, this person will help to strategically position the business in the global
marketplace to double brand revenue over the next 3-5 years.
As part of the executive team, this individual will be a proven global leader with ability to create and manage breakthrough marketing strategies and initiatives that deliver step-change in growth, while meeting annual revenue and profitability goals
through increasing brand equity. The new Portfolio Business Manager will be at the center of defining and executing product management and marketing strategies for the US/LATAM region that meet business objectives and are in line with the overall regional division’s go-to-market strategy. This individual oversees all product management, marketing, and portfolio strategy activities in the local region, owning the brand portfolio and 4 P’s (Product, Price, Place and Promotion) of marketing.
The successful candidate will be highly entrepreneurial, thrive on collaboration and possess a holistic and deep understanding of the elements to drive a profitable operation. The successful incumbent will build multi-dimensional and well-integrated demand creation initiatives that integrate transactional and experiential, marketing tools and strategies to deliver on revenue and profit goals. They also will be visionary in terms of laying the foundation and strategy for the next global step-change in growth and driving domestic and internationalsales. They will lead, nurture, and grow teams with responsibility over a diverse group of Product Managers and related staff. A key priority will be to continue the development of each individual staff member while enhancing the overall capability and capacity of the team.
Your responsibilities
  • Define and implement new product roadmaps and strategies to achieve division goals
  • Monitor and manage strategic marketing plans for each product or product lines
  • Lead, manage and mentor a diverse direct team of product and marketing directors and related staff
  • Responsible for full product lifecycle management of responsible product brands across all product lines. Enhance product definition and positioning using competitive information, market, and product analysis
  • Understand and communicate competitive tactics, response to new market developments, product, and strategy dynamics
  • Lead, define, represent, and communicate product strategy to all key stakeholders
  • Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through strong leadership and decisive action. Build incredible teams and processes to deliver products that satisfy the needs of customers
  • Measure the success of marketing programs to determine the most effective means of driving sales
  • Define market research approach, methodology and integration of findings into go-to-market approach
  • Lead Product Directors to assess product mix and marketing strategy
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics
Your background
  • Strong analytical skills using a wide range of data sources
  • Ability to analyze metrics and draw key insights
  • Strong working knowledge of the specific products, applications, competitors, and market intelligence for the division
  • Proven capability to build diverse, collaborative teams with a track record of growing and developing employee talent
  • Work well cross-functionally to build alignment and reach objectives
  • 8 years of experience in leading a team or project with high levels of success and accountability
  • Drive positive results based on customer centricity
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
  • BS (Bachelor of Science) / BA (Bachelor of Arts) with minimum 12 years of experience within sales, product management or product marketing. MBA or Graduate Degree, preferred
  • Possess strong communication, presentation and writing skills as well as possess demonstrated excellence in presenting to customers and large, internal teams
