Are you ever disappointed in the registration flow when you need to use a new website? Have you gotten frustrated when trying to sign into your account? Are you a great UX designer with a passion for helping members access the information they need to make health care work better for them?


This Senior Visual Designer will be responsible for evaluating, documenting, and redesigning how millions of people register and sign in to their member portals across UHG. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate easily with business owners and stakeholders, researchers, analytics experts, and developers, to make both quick changes as well as larger-scale revamps.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
  • Provide support for Members as needed by Digital Product team
  • Motivates and inspires other team members.
  • Create UI Design, UI components, Visual Design elements as required
  • Visual designer with the ability to think through all things UX
  • May lead functional or segment teams or projects
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Explore emerging opportunity in the healthcare digital space, evaluate and evangelize as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and hi-fidelity designs
  • 1 + years of mobile app design experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with each of the following:
    • Graphic/Web Design
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Axure
    • Figma
    • Sketch
    • Presentation Design
  • Portfolio link atop resume which showcases select experiences pertaining to the following requirements
  • Proven ability to work across a matrixed multi-tiered organization and deliver the best possible outcomes
  • Presentation Design
  • Graphic/Web Design
  • Professional experience presenting work and incorporating feedback into designs
  • Professional experience communicating at a high level with multiple stakeholders
  • Sketch
  • Axure
  • Figma
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Professional experience working in or creating Design Systems and UI components for Digital Platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Design, Human‐Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Information Architecture, Communications, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience designing enterprise software, B2B applications or large employee‐facing systems and medical or healthcare domains
  • Knowledge of UX‐ related analytics, metrics, and measurement techniques
  • Experience training and mentoring junior design staff

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
