Senior Vice President
Sustain SC is a nonprofit organization with a mission to connect the sustainability goals of business in South Carolina with local solutions for the benefit of our economy, environment, and people. We are seeking a Senior Vice President with strong managerial and fundraising experience and a background in economic development, external affairs, corporate sustainability or related management level experience. Leadership, team building, problem- solving, work ethic, professionalism and integrity are paramount.
Objectives:
- Create programming and select panelists
- Manage strategic initiatives including/ Roadmap to Sustain SC implementation
- Serve as the Sustain SC liaison for the SLI program
- Develop strategies to recruit new members through social events and educational programs
- Manage event logistics
- Develop and support the Alumni Program
- Oversee onboarding and management of any new FTEs
- Create and execute a calendar of events and programming for membership
- Manage Sustain SC’s membership levels, members, and member programming
- Develop and Manage Membership Program
- Create a Sustainability Consulting Business Model
- Solicit new members and create a strategy to increase membership levels of current members
- Work closely, collaboratively and in support of the CEO to manage the strategic direction of the organization
- Manage event logistics
- Present on behalf of Sustain SC at appropriate speaking engagements
- Recruit sponsors
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships in concert with and in support of Sustain SC’s CEO
- Manage sustainability workshops for new members and prospective members
- Spearhead the Sustainability Symposium
- Work closely in coordination with the CEO to manage the organization’s budget and ensure financial success for the organization
- Lead the recruitment of new membership
- Assist with communications timeline and PR
- Attend Allied Partners meetings on behalf of Sustain SC
- Recruit key sustainability consultants to assist in programming and workshops
- Serve as the CSO in economic development recruitment where needed
- Manage MOU with Commerce
- Spearhead Sustainability Forums
- Employee and Vendor Management
- Maintain the integrity and reputation of Sustain SC’s brand
- Develop short and long term goals for the organization and the key tasks and objectives to be successful
- Develop and guide work plans and set goals and objectives
- Create a business model for the implementation of a consulting platform to bring in additional revenue to the organization
- Create marketing materials and talking points for SC Commerce as well as relevant programming
- Manage fundraising, communications and program management consultants
- Look for grant opportunities and write submissions as needed
- Create proposal and fundraising documents for current and prospective members
- Serve as the Liaison for SC Dept of Commerce’s Allied Partners
- Lead retention of current membership
- Recruit sponsors
- External Affairs
- Serve as the Sustain SC liaison to the consulting platform for members and ensure ROI
- Create programming and select panelists
- Strategic Growth of the Organization
- Support the Sustainability Leadership Initiative program

Experience and Education:
- Minimum Level: 5 years in economic development, external affairs, corporate sustainability, philanthropic fundraising or related management level experience
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Preferred Level: 8+ years
This position will be remote, however, employees must live in South Carolina. Travel throughout the state of South Carolina will be required. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
Salary range is $95,000 - $125,000 based on experience.
