Job Title: Technical Accountant

Job Location: Reading, MA

Hybrid: 2 days in the office, 3 remote/week

Industry: multi billion in revenue, publicly held manufacturing company.

Required:

2+ years public accounting experience (Big 4 or larger public accounting firm like RSM, BDO, Grant Thornton etc).

Manufacturing, product or tech company experience (no financial services only backgrounds)

Pluses:

CPA

Publicly held company experience

This position will report to the Technical Accounting Manager and have responsibilities involving technical accounting issues, revenue recognition, policies and procedures, finance special projects, SOX compliance, and supporting external financial reporting. This would be a great position for a big four or larger public accounting firm candidate to transition into private industry.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the completion of special projects such as potential acquisitions and implementation of processes around new SEC standards.
• Assist in the preparation and review of SEC and governmental filings
• Review revenue transactions
• Research accounting and financial reporting requirements, recommend accounting treatment for transactions based on such research and document the recommendation.
• Monitor and ensure timely identification of and compliance with new accounting guidance, provide GAAP interpretation and document conclusion.
• Assist with the management and execution of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance program.
• Update and maintain accounting policies and procedures manual; monitor consistent application across company.

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience
• CPA a plus
