Position Summary

Establishes quality requirements to ensure that suppliers conform to procurement requirements and code and industry standards by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, monitor, and support in the prompt resolution of all supplier-related non-conformities.
  • Support Procurement in mitigating supplier-related documentation issues.
  • Audit and survey suppliers.
  • Perform yearly supplier performance reviews.
  • Maintain all indicators related to Supplier Quality.
  • Update the entitlement of suppliers to the Dock-to-Stock program based on their performance.
  • Determine conformance to applicable standards and codes.
  • Evaluate supplier assessments shared by the Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC).
  • Support Quality Management in maintaining and updating the company’s Quality Program.
  • Perform internal audits.
  • Analyze company Quality Assurance Manuals and Procedures and suggest possible improvements.
  • Communicate with suppliers when documentation is missing or incorrect for prompt resolution.
  • Support customer and industry audits.
  • Review and evaluate Supplier Deviation Requests (SDR) and coordinate their disposition.
  • Monitor suppliers’ performance.
  • Review supplier certificates to ensure product and material compliance.
  • Initiate and follow-up on supplier Corrective Actions Requests (CAR).
  • Inform Procurement of any supplier chargebacks.
  • Review and approve supplier’s procedures and specifications.
  • Monitor all supplier-related Cost of Quality.
  • Maintain and update the Approved Suppliers Lists.


Qualifications and Required Skills:

Minimum:

  • ERP system knowledge (examples: SAP / Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Understand non-destructive testing, Inspection/Quality Control functions.
  • Experience in reading engineering drawings.
  • Excel advanced.
  • Creative thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of time.
  • Knowledge of industry standards as they relate to valves.
  • Familiar with inspection tools and techniques.
  • Adhere to international business protocol (etiquette, time differences, etc.).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, welding, shop tools, equipment, and health/safety requirements.

Preferred:

  • Experience with NIAC.
  • Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, ASME, 10CFR50 Appendix B, NQA-1, API 6A & Q1 and ASTM).
  • NQA-1 Lead Auditor.

Education/Experience:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Quality.
  • 5-7+ years’ experience in Manufacturing, Energy, Oil & Gas or Nuclear.
  • 2+ years’ minimum experience in auditing.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years’ minimum experience in the Nuclear Industry.
  • Professional / Certified Engineer (PE/CE).
