We need our Senior Space Planners to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills.

PROJECT:

Parsons is managing a Technical Services (TS) program for an agency within the Department of Defense to review third party A/E work; conduct studies, analysis, testing and measuring; perform specialized engineering services, planning and design reviews; commissioning services; and construction oversight on worldwide delivery orders.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

Parsons is seeking a Senior Space Planner to perform the following:

  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes. Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
  • Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project. Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
  • Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Responsible for the development and distribution of a one to two-page description of the project to all members of the project team for reference.
  • Provides technical guidance to lower-level Architectural Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing related reports.
  • Reviews CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Mobilizes company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work. Discusses the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the profit center and department managers. Collaborates with the office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
  • Keeps abreast of current technologies via technical subscriptions and attendance at conferences.
  • Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes. The Project Manager is specifically responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field preferred
  • ACTIVE TS/SCI w/ POLYGRAPH CLEARANCE REQUIRED
  • Must be US Citizen
  • 12+ years of related work experience is required with 5+ in space planning. Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as previous project management experience on similar or related projects.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Requires proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required. The ability to make presentations to clients and others is preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

Salary Range:

$121,900.00 - $219,400.00
