The Opportunity:

Your role at Sephora:
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing strong and effective business partner relationships and providing strategic sourcing support to the Sephora Supply Chain and Warehousing categories. Reporting to the Director of Technology & Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing, you will leverage your experience to deliver significant value to key stakeholders by managing the end-to-end strategic sourcing process for Supply Chain & Warehousing (your primary spend category) and lead stretch projects in other spend categories such as Packaging, Supply Chain Technology, and cross-functional category collaborations as needed.


In addition, you will:

  • Effectively communicate status updates to key stakeholders, including timely identification and escalation/resolution of issues
  • Collaborate with Finance and functional stakeholders to develop strategic sourcing plans with well-defined cost savings and avoidance targets
  • Participating actively to improve Sephora's Sustainability, Supplier Diversity, and 3rd party Risk goals.
  • Strategize across categories/departments to identify opportunities for gained efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in supplier negotiations
  • Demonstrate Sephora values of Passion for Client Service, Innovation, Expertise, Balance, Respect for All, Teamwork, and Initiative.
  • Conduct all phases in the development of complex contracts, including reviewing statements of work or requirements, request for information (RFI), and request for proposal (RFP) development
  • Advocate for and track compliance to Sephora's Indirect Spend and Delegation of Authority policies by delivering periodic training, aka "road shows," and appropriately escalating non-compliance
  • Build an execute a plan to identify and evaluate diverse suppliers, with a goal of increasing the percentage of category spend with diverse suppliers
  • Continually improve supplier performance by setting measurable, contractual, performance targets and related supplier performance management
  • Keep up to date with market trends in the category and procurement functions
  • Close sourcing projects in a timely manner, including but not limited to uploading executed agreements to our contract lifecycle management, and security stakeholder and finance approval on savings or cost avoidance
  • Bring best practices in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Indirect Procurement to drive automation and simplification.
  • Provide thought leadership and support to ad hoc projects optimizing Strategic Sourcing's effectiveness, for example, by proposing and implementing process improvements
  • Achieve year-over-year improvements in spend related to the category ownership, without sacrificing quality and service
  • Partner with a broad mix of stakeholders on contract evaluation, redlining, and negotiation, such as Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and Internal Controls
  • Develop strong relationships with and be recognized as a valued partner by stakeholders to influence business decisions
  • Stay abreast of changes in the market, such as emerging technologies and suppliers, and evaluate and address any impact of changes in supplier status (eg, via acquisition)
  • Build project plans and timelines to ensure key milestones are being captured and met as it relates to the sourcing process

  • A proven track record of cost reduction and productivity improvements.
  • Excellent project and timeline management skills to manage sourcing projects end-to-end, from project intake, through onboarding to project closure and transition.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and interpersonal. Experience interfacing with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, supplier continuous improvement programs.
  • A continuous learning mindset
  • Experience in sourcing key Supply Chain categories such as Freight, 3PL, Warehousing, and others such as materials, fixtures, packaging, construction, maintenance, and cleaning programs, a plus.
  • 8+ years of strategic sourcing experience, with strong expertise in multiple categories in a multi-national retail corporation
  • Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to adapt and change quickly.
  • Advanced analytics, excel, presentation, data visualization, and Sourcing tools skills (required)

The annual base salary range for this position is $140,000.00 - $155,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
