Summary: This Senior-level position requires extensive hands-on experience with designing, implementing and overseeing testing solutions as well as the ability to apply these concepts across various technology platforms (web-based, client-server, service oriented, mainframe, etc.). Either the practical experience working with LIMS applications or the hands on extensive hands-on experience with designing, implementing and overseeing testing solutions as well as the ability to apply these concepts across various technology platforms (web-based, client-server, service oriented, mainframe, etc.) are necessary to perform in this role. It requires the ability to identify, plan and execute testing activities to ensure high quality software and ensure compliance according to regulatory statues, policies and procedures. The position will require testing of various development technologies such as web applications, desktop applications such as VB or .Net, API/web services or legacy/mainframe systems. In addition, it may also require the ability to utilize middleware components such as IBM’s messaging queues or interfaces to perform validation of an application. Actual testing could consist of various testing types such as white-box/black-box, functional, etc. to ensure application functionality. The analyst will create and maintain test plans, cases, test data and summary artifacts as well as execute testing scenarios for verification. The analyst must be able to provide work estimates for testing activities and report on quality statistics and metrics, record and monitor issues until resolution. Individual must promote continuous improvement and strive for methods to improve testing through the use of testing tools.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Ability to follow established processes, SOPs and testing methods throughout the software lifecycle while continuously driving quality into the overall work process.
• Organize and manage assigned tasks, provide project estimations and perform risk assessments and planning based on the work assignment.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in technical, information systems or clinical/business related field. Clinical Healthcare experience a plus.
• Collaborate with various IT entities such as the Business Analysts, Development, Support, Project Management, etc. as dictated by the task or project deliverable.
• Ability to use defined business or product requirements documentation to perform the appropriate test validation to ensure the proper implementation of key functionalities.
• Ability to analyze complex processes and develop logical conclusions and approach in order to implement effective solutions.
• Create test cases and scenarios to perform the appropriate test validation based on the defined requirements documents.
• Provide testing updates and metrics based on the test execution process.
• Five years or more experience as a software quality analyst with experience using software quality tools to facilitate testing or hands-on lab experience with respective lab systems.
• Self-managing with the ability to control the analysis and quality processes throughout the software lifecycle while continuously driving quality into the overall work process.
• Provide peer support, Production support during normal or off-hour timeframes.
• Create and/or review test plans or test summary documentation outlining the test approach and test outcomes of the test execution.
• Serves as a conduit between the IT entities and the business community (internal or external customers) to ensure alignment on test executions and processes.

General skills (required):

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical, business, or clinical discipline
• Understanding of software testing methodologies, use of software tools for artifact creation and management and different testing types
• Laboratory experience working with LIMS systems a major plus but not required.
• Must be able to work independently in the absence of supervision

Technical skills:

• Experience with various lifecycle and testing methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, Integration, System, User Acceptance
• Experience with various lifecycle methodologies: Waterfall, Agile and testing methods: Functional, Integration, System, User Acceptance, Usability
• Clinical content & file formats: Health Level 7 (HL7), FHIR, JSON
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulatory compliance policies desirable
• Software Tools: Artifact and Defect Management Tools: HP Quality Center/ALM, Microsoft TFS, JIRA/Zephyr, Confluence
• Experience testing or using Mainframe, Web-based, .NET, VB, middleware components, API/services and other development technologies.
