The Hartford’s Global Specialty IT Organization is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to develop and deliver well architected and innovative solutions for the business. The Developer will leverage the Scrum development methodology and core Agile engineering practices such as continuous integration and test-driven development to build complex and modern applications and platforms based in Java Spring MVC, Spring Webflow, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS and JavaScript technologies. Experience with Maven, Git, and Jenkins, Java 8, Spring Batch, Behavioral Driven Development and Automated Testing is a considered an advantage
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Global Specialty IT team is seeking motivated, results oriented individual with strong technical skills. The ideal candidate will act as the principal designer for major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a willingness to understand/adhere to existing processes and standards, solid technical acumen, experience in delivering quality technical solutions and ability to deliver high-quality solutions while ensuring systems are stable, performant, and secure.
The responsibilities of the Full Stack Java Developer include:
  • Work closely with team to design and document solutions that align with the business needs
  • Update components on JBoss, and Oracle platforms
  • Perform hands-on development work using HTML, Java, JSP, spring MVC and jQuery
Qualifications
  • Experience with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, preferred tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Rally, SonarQube etc.
  • Experience with writing and using APIs
  • Experience using JBoss
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
  • 3+ years of experience in application software solution development
  • Experience using relational databases specifically Oracle and/or SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of REST Services and microservice concepts
  • Requires understanding & usage of Java enterprise technologies like Java Web Services, JMS, JDBC.
  • Experience with containerization and experience in cloud infrastructure environments like Open Shift and Terraform.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Experience in front end web technologies and frameworks: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JMS, AJAX, Spring, and Hibernate.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$91,760 - $137,640
