Senior Software Engineer (Backend Nodejs)

PayGround is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend NodeJS) to work alongside our ‘A-Team’ of like minded software engineers. You will work closely with the core engineering and product team to develop solutions using the latest frameworks and technologies and help grow and build our platform.

Responsibilities

• Extending, improving and scaling features and capabilities built primarily in Node.js
• Work closely with product managers and designers to define, scope and drive the implementation of new features from conception to release
• Facilitate collaboration on design, code reviews, and testing, ensuring best practices are upheld.
• Generate high-impact results by significantly contributing to team projects that drive business growth.
• Design and build scalable solutions in AWS cloud using Lambdas, DynamoDB and other managed services
• Drive innovations, ensuring the architecture and application ecosystem is efficient, scalable, and maintainable.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers in best practices and technologies.
• Design and build APIs in NodeJS for use internally and externally by PayGround customers and partners

Qualifications

You thrive working in a fast-paced, high performing environment and enjoy working on a variety of projects, along with:

• Stellar interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
• Extensive experience in Node.js microservices/GraphQL/RESTful API development.
• Deep experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Appreciation for agility and pragmatism in software development processes.
• Robust understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Commanding knowledge of version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket.
• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience as a software engineer, with demonstrated expertise in platform/backend engineering.
• Exceptional ability to articulate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Mastery in architecting, developing, and deploying solutions on AWS, including serverless architectures.
• Adaptability in exploring and adopting new technologies, demonstrating problem-solving prowess with minimal technical guidance.
• Experience in designing and building APIs, including schema definitions, that are utilized internally and externally.

• Salary for this position between $120,000 and $150,000 per year depending on experience. We do not have a bonus structure.

Hybrid Work Requirements

We ask all Phoenix, AZ area employees to come into our offices one(1) day per week. We do not offer relocation assistance to those applying out of state. We are open to fully remote candidates for those outside of the Phoenix, AZ area.
