World Vision is hiring a Senior Purchasing & Contract Manager within the Vendor Contract Services Team.

Role: Senior Purchasing & Contract Manager, Vendor Contract Services

Location: Hybrid from Federal Way, WA preferred, with on-site work every 2nd Wednesday of the month. Remote possible within the United States from 35+ states.

Reports to: Director, Vendor Contract Services

Required Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires a minimum of 5-8 years’ work experience in strategy, finance, buying/planning, procurement or related field. Experience must include consulting with internal clients in contracting for the purchase of Finance, Marketing, Facility, and/or IT solutions.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000/annually. Applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. Typical hiring range is $90,000 - $105,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity. 02 The Job In this role, the Senior Purchasing and Contract Manager will be responsible for a broad portfolio of internal customers, providing comprehensive vendor and internal client relationship management services for the organization’s most complex and highest valued commercial contracting/purchasing requirements. The Senior Purchasing and Contract Manager will lead internal clients in making well-informed, value-oriented contracting/purchasing decisions, and manage vendor sourcing, competitive review processes, and contract negotiation. In this role, you will provide professional expertise and interaction with vendors, effectively channeling communications between internal clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. Using strong business acumen, acute analytical skills, strong communication abilities, creative thinking, and innovation, you’ll solve complex contractual issues and opportunities and deliver successful vendor solutions to the organization. The Senior Purchasing and Contract Manager will also collaborate closely with other internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, IT Security, and other organizational subject matter experts to ensure risk is mitigated while the organization's goals and objectives are achieved. This role will also help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies, while personifying the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with legal, finance, IT Security, other subject matter experts, and key stakeholders in addressing requirements, and vetting contracts in protecting WV interests, while at the same time meeting client expectations.
  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Communicate WV policy/processes and best practices to clients.
  • Represent the Vendor & Contract Solutions department in leading and managing vendor contracts/purchasing for various WV client groups.
  • Consult with department Director in vendor contracting/purchasing strategy, vendor relationship management, administration, and organizational policies/procedures for contracting/purchasing.
  • Manage vendor sourcing, selection, evaluation, and contract negotiation. Use analytical skills, creative thinking and innovation to solve complex problems and deliver successful vendor solutions.
  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

03 Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires a minimum of 5-8 years’ work experience in strategy, finance, buying/planning, procurement or related field. Experience must include consulting with internal clients in contracting for the purchase of Finance, Marketing, Facility, and/or IT solutions. Experience with MS Office/Outlook, NetSuite, and SharePoint preferred.

  • Procurement Expertise: Assess client needs; research, gather and synthesize information on suppliers, products and services; evaluate proposals and develop recommendations. Resolve differences, develop solutions and incorporate contract changes.
  • Quality Orientation: Looks for improvements in processes to meet or exceed expectations. Dedicated to developing processes that eliminate unnecessary work and improve quality, productivity and efficiency. Advocates the importance of quality assurance.
  • Negotiation Skills: Explores alternatives to reach optimal outcomes that gain acceptance of all parties when parties have divergent goals. Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to gain acceptance of an idea.
  • Contract Terms Knowledge: Advanced understanding of contract terms and conditions. Able to effectively communicate understanding to others. Able to effectively add/delete/modify commercial terms as appropriate in drafting contracts.
