Job Description

The Office of Academic Affairs at The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard provides members of our academic community with connections and resources that can help them thrive at Broad and beyond and is currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented big-picture thinker to join our fast-paced team as a Senior Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with a large cross-section of the Broad and will be involved in many institutionally important programs and projects.

This position will support key activities and initiatives across the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) portfolio, including project coordination responsibilities for trainee and faculty affairs and cross-functional committees/working groups. This role will serve as a critical partner to operationalize OAAs strategic priorities and will take on a variety of tasks and functions, driving accountability and supporting projects to completion.

Within the scope of this role, this position will liaise with key partners in other Admin groups to disseminate resources, triage questions and create/maintain up-to-date policies, best practices and reporting among faculty and trainees. With visibility into multiple groups/projects, this position will also flag overlapping interests, redundancies and potential alignment on goals with the Academic Affairs team. A key function will be attending cross-functional meetings and taking notes that will be turned into meeting summaries, memos and/or proposals to be shared with attendees and stakeholders, including agreed-upon next steps and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative manner as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize among them based on risk, importance, urgency, and potential implications
  • At least four years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrated project coordination responsibilities. Previous experience in an academic environment is appreciated, as is familiarity with budgeting.
  • Proactivity and creative problem solving
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google business apps (Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive)
  • High sense of urgency, drive and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

The Broad Institute will not offer visa sponsorship for this opportunity.
