Job Description
What Will You Do
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
  • Proactively manages program and project risk (risk identification and mitigation)
  • “Face of the Project”; Responsible for communication of key project/program performance metrics, status, key decisions, risks, issues and mitigation strategies to Management.
  • Responsible for the project DHF and other required documentation
  • “Project Advocate”; Leads the cross functional team (CFT) throughout the product development lifecycle, from conceptualization, through definition, design, realization, validation, to production release of new or existing devices, systems, IT, and/or related accessory products. CFT represents all functions needed to realize the product (innovation, product management, service, quality/regulatory, operations & finance).
  • “Project Owner”; Responsible for overall integrated project planning, execution, and closure to achieve the program/project objectives (scope, schedule, cost, quality) with adherence to Draeger SOPs.
  • QMS and FDA and other industry regulations.
  • Contributes to program planning, strategic planning, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with department managers regarding resource planning and commitment, schedules, budgets, and quality of deliverables. May lead and coordinate activities with third parties (suppliers, contractors, and other Draeger entities) to ensure that work is delivered as needed for assigned projects.
  • Applies project management best practices while ensuring compliance to internal SOPs,
Education
  • MS preferred
  • BS in technical/engineering discipline (ME/EE/SW/Biomedical/Systems) is required
  • Medical devices background is required
Qualifications
  • 3rd party (Contractor or Supplier) management is preferred for some assignments
  • Experience with medical grade SW product realization is highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of project management in medical systems & devices realization in a cross-functional environment including multi-locational or global teams and a consistent track record of delivering project scope on time, on budget, and with quality.
  • Experience in Earned Value Project Management preferred
  • 5+ years of subject matter expertise in the development of complex medical systems & devices (HW and embedded SW) is required. Experience in other regulated system-based industries is a plus.
