SENIOR DEVELOPER
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under limited supervision, performs tasks in all areas of software development including requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, support, documentation, and user training. Works as part of a diverse and dynamic team creating internal business and customer-facing applications which includes both new development and maintenance of existing legacy applications. Involved in resolving issues and responding to suggestions for improvements and enhancements from business customers. Works closely with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Produce code in accordance with internal development and current information security standards
• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure internal development standards are being followed
• Ensure developed solutions are well-engineered, operable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule
• Assist team leadership in designing software solutions that meet project requirements
• Participate in enterprise-level projects and lead small-to-medium-sized projects
• Partner with IT resources and internal business partners to determine project requirements
• Perform unit testing to ensure functionality of developed applications before user acceptance testing
• Assist in providing Tier 2 support for all developed applications including debugging issues
• Perform software deployments of internal and customer-facing applications
• Document software applications and development processes for support handoff
• Train application users on the proper use of developed software applications
• Assist internal business partners with user acceptance testing of developed products
• Configure and support store applications – both internally developed and 3rd party
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development team
• Mentor junior members of the development team
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate degree or certs in a closely related field preferred; Bachelor degree strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of related IT experience; 7+ years of related IT experience preferred
• Programming experience required in C#, ASP.NET, XML, and SQL
• Programming experience preferred in (CSS, JQuery, JavaScript, Entity Framework, SharePoint)
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management principles preferred
• Knowledge or exposure to IIS, ActiveDirectory, Azure, SQL Management Studio, Jira preferred
• Knowledge of retail point-of-sale systems preferred
• Excellent relationship building and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to think critically and rapidly learn new technologies as needed
• Positive, enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated desire to build a cohesive and collaborative team
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive to complete assigned tasks
• Ability to follow development processes and best practices
