Summary
The GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) Senior Materials Planner for the Advanced Nuclear supply chain is responsible for developing and executing the material planning strategy and approach for new nuclear power plant projects. In this role, you will be responsible for material planning for GEH’s advanced nuclear programs.Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to facilitate the implementation and adoption of the material requirement planning (MRP) tool and develop the strategy for material planning according to sales inputs and lead times for the advanced nuclear program organization. This project will require deep integration with multiple functions including Information Technology (IT) and SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations) functions.
Roles and Responsibilities
Must be willing to work eastern time zone working business hours.
Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Act as the lead interface for Oracle MRP [Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP)] implementation and integration for the Advanced Nuclear organization.
- Manage master planning, material processes and systems for the Advanced Nuclear value stream. Prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs for the Advanced Nuclear business.
- Represent the Material Planning function in internal and external SMR stakeholder meetings that pertain to SMR related activities. Communicate business requirements, priorities, and risks parameters to proper stakeholders.
- Promote a working environment that encourages teamwork to achieve excellence in compliance, safety, customer service, quality, and productivity.
- Leader and initial member of a team that will develop and implement GEH’s Small Modular Reactor (SMR) material planning program and activities, including establishing MRP system methodology, protocols and flows.
- Ensure operational alignment with SMR reactor construction and delivery plan and key performance indicators (KPI).
- Use technical experience and analytical thinking to problem solve, determine root cause and propose countermeasures to improve performance on KPIs.
- Use Lean principles to optimize material flow and drive material velocity for timely equipment and materials delivery, inventory turns and cash flow.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of professional experience in material planning for sourcing, supply chain, or energy industry mega-projects.
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, university, or 15 years of material planning experience
- 10 years of relevant professional work experience in material planning, sourcing, manufacturing, engineering or project scheduling/management.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in a new product introduction environment
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience leading an MRP or ERP implementation project, specifically in the Oracle platform
- Experience in a high technology and/or highly regulated industry
- Strong leader capable of working successfully in matrix organization, as part of a cross-functional team to drive impactful results
The salary range for this position is $101,000.00 - $135,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
